articles Inner Strength: Finding Your Inner Tough Chic
So, you want to be a girl who can
handle her own. Don’t be modest, the comfort we achieve from being able
to take care of ourselves is a heady feeling; the feeling that everyone has the
power to achieve. As a female we are under a lot of pressure when it
comes to standing on our own. To be feminine has become an outdated
source and it can become difficult to find common ground between keeping with
our feministic roots and taking care of ourselves as confident
individuals. Soft, nurturing, intuitive, characteristics often associated
with the word female are not associated with the likes of strong, confident,
self capable and the like.
However, this is just not so. You
can be all of those characteristics molded into one. This in fact will
work to make you not only a better person but a more whole one. Being a
‘tough chic’ does not mean piercing, leather and intimidation. It can of
course, if you are into that sort of thing, but it does not necessarily have to
be this way. Tough signifies strength, strength signifies endurance and
the ability to handle whatever life throws your way. By taking life as it
comes and using it to your full advantage no matter what it throws at you, this
is the goal. Patience in the face of adversity, compassion and persistence,
this is what declares you a tough woman. Standing with your head held
high even though you are crumbling inside, this signifies a strong woman.
Continuing to move forward no matter how many times you fall this is what
signifies a touch chic.
Any female has it within herself to be strong. Even in her darkest hour,
in fact a lot of times exactly in her darkest hour, the fact that she can pull
through shows her strength of character and spirit. Outward appearances
hold no contest to that of the inward image. Within you is the strength
and when you tap into this source, it will automatically shine through to the
outside world. A single mother working to support her children, an old
woman who reaches the age of ninety four outliving her friends and family but still
remains in top spirits, a young girl who goes through the motions of high
school amidst rumors and false accusations yet still remains kind and friendly
to her accusers. These are examples of extreme situations and the bearing
of strength within them. No matter the situation, it is possible to find
the strength to go on.
Becoming a tough chic is nothing more then finding with in yourself the will
power to do so. But finding within you to say to the world, this is me,
deal with it because I am more than willing to deal with you. Inner
strength really knows no gender. It is in no way gender specific.
Every human has the power to tap into that inner strength, whether you are male
or female, young or old. It does not matter. The only thing that matters
is how much you want it.
