If you're considering a holiday in Menorca, a trip out of season sees the island peaceful and at her best.

If you are eager to take a holiday abroad to the paradise destination of Menorca, the best time to plan your trip isn't necessarily the height of tourist season. While Menorca is a great destination all year round, certain advantages are offered to the savvy tourist that visits Menorca out of the tradtional holiday season.

From November to April, many of the island's facilities are still open, but many of the tourists are no longer crowding them with throngs of people. You can enjoy all the amenities of these popular locations, as they are still open following the height of tourist season, but they are much more peaceful for you on your trip.

Another great advantage of planning your trip to Menorca out of season is the still good weather. The beaches are crowded and the weather is downright hot during the peak summer months of July and August. On average, there are eleven hours of sunshine during the high months. For other months, the weather is still enjoyable and beautiful, but not as overwhelmingly hot.

The temperate weather of late November can make for ideal conditions for island exploration. Consider taking a long hike to explore the peaceful island while it is less populated by tourists. Consider exploring the island's many caves, both by land and sea. Renting a boat to do some sailing is a wonderful way to pass an autumn day in Menorca. Whether you prefer the rocky, rugged landscape of the island's north or the pristine white beaches of the south, you're sure to find the experience peaceful and enlightening.

If nature exploration isn't your cup of tea, consider shopping. Many shops offer great sales after the high tourist season ends. Whether you want to purchase summer clothes at great discounts or acquire some fashionable pieces for fall in one of Menorca's trendy boutiques, the weather's perfect for shopping at a leisurely pace.

After you finish your shopping, try taking a walk through one of the island's many parks. Then, catch a meal outdoors by dining al fresco on some of the great seafood found on the island, like lobster stew or shellfish paella. Be sure to enjoy some local wine with your meal as you take in the splendor of a Menorcan sunset.

Because Menorca is only about 32 miles wide, it is fun to hire a car to traverse the island. You can sometimes find discounted rates outside of the summer months, and renting a car is a great way to see the entire island quickly and easily. Try driving a convertible to further enjoy the wonderful weather and long, sunny days filled with beautiful island weather.

Another great advantage of visiting Menorca after the peak season is that villa rental rates and hotel room rates are much more affordable. During the high season, it is sometimes difficult to find your first choice in accommodations at a reasonable rate. For the rest of the year, you are much more likely to obtain first class hotels and villas at cut rates, even at the last minute.
