Holidays in las vegas – selecting the best hotel
Las Vegas has arguably some of the most famous hotels in the world, due to the massive casinos that are attached to them. Simply say the names 'Bellagio', 'Circus Circus' and the 'Mirage' and you immediately conjure up images from famous films such as Swingers and Ocean's 11.
However while you don't have to be George Clooney to stay in some of the larger, more luxurious hotels it certainly helps. If you are looking to stay in Las Vegas for a few days, then there are many options depending on what you wish to do. If it's gambling, a stag night, a wild weekend with friends or simply catching a show, America's City of Sin has the accommodation to suit you.
Firstly, it is important to remember your budget. If you can afford to stay in the likes of Bellagio, then deals might not interest you. However sites like TripAdvisor do offer special room rates for the larger hotels, if you want to save a bit of cash.
Last minutes deals are often the best way to secure a decent room in Las Vegas for minimal expense. Sites such as Expedia specialise in this, however if you're the kind of person that likes to book everything months in advance, then costs will rise considerably.
It is the hotels on the world-famous Strip that are going to cost the most, but outside of Las Vegas' main road, there are numerous B&Bs, hotels and inns that offer more reasonable rates. Not just that, but it's probably quieter...
Again, it all depends what you are looking for in a trip to Las Vegas. If you are planning to trip the light fantastic, and simply use your hotel room as a place to ditch your luggage while you seek your fortune in the casinos, then a cheap Travel Lodge room is ideal. However if you are looking for a more luxurious time, possibly using a hotel's spa facilities after a wild night out, then a higher class of accommodation is for you.
One thing about Vegas is that it is the city of deals. If you shop around, either online or with various travel agencies, not only can you find decent rates, but many hotels offer deals, such as money off local shows including magicians Penn and Teller, or more extravagant experiences like The Blue Man Show. It's all up to you, as it's Vegas, roll the dice and see what the fates decide.
